Taxation and Debt

Today, families in the middle class of America require 2 incomes to to meet their needs where 1 income used to be sufficient. This is because the equivalent of 100% of the labor of 1 person in a middle class family with 2 wage earners is paid in taxes, when including the taxes that increase the cost of goods and services.  Freedom and Liberty requires 2 equal and necessary components, one obvious, one not as obvious: (1) the freedom to act, and (2) the freedom to use the fruits of your actions, your labor, to pursue your destiny, your happiness. Having the Freedom to Act then to have the Fruits of your Labor Taken is Not Freedom.

How differently would families exist today if one person brought home what they create (twice their net income)?  Would someone stay home and take care of the kids and provide a classic home environment?  Would a new business get started that creates new wealth and opportunity for all?  Would someone have the time to solve one of today’s intractable problems?  Would charities come to life like they once did and provide a community based support system for people in need?  Would more funds be invested into retirement so as to not rely on Social Security?  Would there be time and income for family vacations, or better education?

Excessive taxation not only destroys the wealth of a nation, it moves each individual and their family from liberty, to a focus on survival, with no excess capacity to create their destiny and pursue their happiness. Income must always meet needs first.  The excess, if it exists and available, can be used purposefully.  It contradicts liberty to say one is half free, especially if the half that we lose through taxation is the half which gives us our liberty meaning.

In the meantime, the wealth and potential of America is being used up. Our children will inherit a nation with greatly diminished opportunity, debt, and impossible problems. The fruits of our labor are diminished; our freedom to reach our destiny is fading away.

How did we reach this point? Why didn’t the constitution protect us? Where are the defenders of liberty, individual rights, and America? Why are they so ineffective and marginalized today? What changed? Is a change back toward liberty still possible? Will it work in today’s society? What about the poor, the widows, and the orphans? What is the next step?

The Water Behind the DAM – Growth of US Monetary Base

This is data directly from the Federal Reserve.   The approximate $800 Billion BASE in 2008 created about $6 Trillion of Money in circulation.  At this time, if the additional $1.6 Trillion BASE is released, this can create approximately 300% of inflation. How can anyone plan a future with this potential looming disaster?  Stay/Go?  Save/Spend?  Invest/Withdraw?  Our very future, our life, our destiny is in the hands of the Federal Reserve at the moment.  It ought not be.
